2026 Mayworks Festival Featured Artists

The Mayworks Festival will feature Vancouver-based drag sensation Kendall Gender.

Kendall Gender is a Canadian drag sensation, performer, host, model, and LGBTQIA2S+ activist who has been captivating audiences from coast to coast since 2014. With grassroots in Vancouver, she has become one of the country’s most recognized drag artists, celebrated for her high-energy performances, activism, and groundbreaking career milestones.

Kendall is producing a WORK themed drag show featuring local drag artists for the 2026 festival.

The show will be held in Vancouver in May and 100% of ticket sales and donations will support the Mayworks Festival and Kendall Gender Foundation. All participating artists are paid.

Kendall is a proud union member of UBCP/ACTRA. In 2025, she launched the Kendall Gender Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for at-risk individuals seeking treatment at a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center.

Kendall is producing a WORK themed drag show featuring local drag artists.

Labour Illustrator Sam Wallman

Sam Wallman is a writer and illustrator based in Naarm / Melbourne, on unceded Wurunderji country in Australia. He is a member of Workers Art Collective and the Maritime Union of Australia.

Sam is a committed unionist, having worked as an organizer for the United Workers Union, and a delegate on the shop floor prior to that. Over the last fifteen years, he has drawn for hundreds of trade unions and worker organizations around the world, and currently works out of an art studio in Melbourne’s Trades Hall, the oldest union hall in the world.

Sam is producing a custom graphic and window display for the UCI Studio. He’ll also be taking part in a special edition of Hot Pot Talks with UCI Co-Director David Ng.
